private ROUNDING INSTRUCTION
Private Rounding Instruction
What is a Round?
A Round consists of performing a specific sequence of Yoga Asanas, gentle poses and postures, designed to prepare the body for stress release; a breathing technique called Pranayama, prana meaning "life force" and yama meaning "to administer"; followed by our usual eyes-closed Vedic Meditation practice, and then a short resting period. Instruction takes about an hour and a half, and the Round itself takes about an hour.
Rounding gives the body and mind an opportunity to release deep-seated stresses, while stirring our natural inclination toward bliss. The Asanas prepare the body for releasing stress and the breathing technique settles the mind and body before meditation, so that one can achieve a deeper state of rest during the eyes-closed practice.
The aim of a Round is to accelerate the beneficial effects of our regular meditation by further facilitating the unwinding of stress and fatigue from our physiology.
